| Grand Rapids, August 25, 2006 – The Michigan Plumbing Mechanical Contractors Association (MPMCA) has announced that the West Michigan Mechanical Contractors Association (WMMCA) have received the 2005 Local Association of the Year Award during the MPMCA Summer Conference at Crystal Mountain August 12, 2006. | |
| Annually the MPMCA honors a local association of the year --- not only for its activities that serve its membership, but also for the value that these associations add to their communities and for their support of MPMCA. The MPMCA’s local association of the year is selected because they have made positive strides in the past year. The WMMCA has been awarded this honor twice since 2001.
WMMCA members have committed themselves to increased activities that serve the members of their association. Several successful education programs serve the members and member employees. The WMMCA has engaged their partners in organized labor to enlist their support and participation in the improvement of labor-management relations. The WMMCA was established to represent and service West Michigan Mechanical Contractors. Association members dedicate themselves to quality, dependability, safety and education as they serve as the primary liaison for labor relations and multi-employer collective bargaining with the West Michigan Plumbers, Fitters and Service Trades Local 174. |
